PE and Sport Premium

The Government believes that the Sport Premium, which is additional to main school funding, is the best way to improve the provision of Physical Education (P.E.) and sports in Primary Schools. This funding, provided jointly by the Department for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport, is allocated to Primary Schools to improve their provision, providing them with the freedom to do this in a way that best suits the school and the needs of its
pupils.

At Southery Academy the funding in previous years has enabled us to join cluster staff training opportunities, subsidise the provision of an after school club for key stage 1, enhance resources for the delivery of P.E within the school  and provide subsidised holiday sports clubs.

This year the funding has doubled and so in total we receive £16,640. Our plans for the allocation of this funding is below.
